We aim to improve Alachua County by educating the public on issues and policies affecting our environment, health, economy, and way of life. Carrying capacity, ecological impact, and the real social costs of infrastructure expansion are complex issues that can be explained to the general public. WWG educates, so that the public may advocate. This education and advocacy will influence the outcome of policy decisions, growth management strategies, and of course which candidates we endorse for elections.

We achieve our mission through educational forums, candidate debates during elections, monitoring policy and planning at County government, and ensuring that the County adheres to the Comprehensive Plan for managed growth. We enjoy the support of many individuals, women and men, and seek community partnerships with other groups.
